Adoption Update....NOTHING:(

We are waiting for our "FDL" (favorable determination letter) from our fingerprints. We have been waiting over four weeks now and it could be four more. I get so excited when the mail comes and quickly look through all the envelopes....then I get a little sad. I need to remember this is all happening in God's time not ours. I'm getting so excited to be a number on the waiting list!!!

I know exactly how you feel because I am in the same situation. I already have my down today because the mail came.

I totally know how you feel, from the begining of the process it seems like there had been something in the mail that I can't wait to get. I feel like a kid waiting for birthday gifts or something. When I get impatient about waiting on God I always try to think about how cool it will be to look back and see His great timing even in the small details like approval letters. Hang in there it will come soon!

Hi Michelle,
Thanks so much for the encouragement. I remember the waiting for the FDL, and the excitement I felt when we got it. It was on the top of our bundle of mail, so I had to take a picture of it! It will come...hang in there (those are words I've been hearing a lot lately ;)

Hi Michelle,
We were put on the waitlist on October 15th and we were #7 on the boy list only. We're #2 now, unofficially. Have a great weekend!

The Gresham's are 13 and 11 on the girl and boy lists, right...don't let the #20 scare you because the girl and boy lists seem to move at the same rate. During the time that we were waiting for our FDL there were only one or two families waiting on the waitlists and when we got on we were suddenly #7. I know it seems daunting to get through your potential wait, but know that you'll have lots of people praying for you. It is a very difficult time, but adoptive family network is amazing and supportive!!

hi michelle,
i saw what you and Dee Dee have been writing, and I just want to encourage you! Unfortuatly the court closure really slowed things down, & i believe Dee Dee got on the wait list right after that (is that right Dee Dee?)...since no one was able to travel to get their children, there was no more room at Hannah's hope, therefore no more refferals...but now that more people are able to travel (i think groups are going almost every 2-3 weeks), I think you will see the process start moving a lot faster now. :)

Yes, we do have names for the baby; Valentina for girl and Sebastian for boy, and probably we will be keeping their birth name as a middle name. I agree, no more Victors here. Hopefully I get my letter this week. You never answer me where do you live?

I know that wait seems to take forever, but once you have your child in your arms it seems like it just flew by....promise:) It is soooo hard to understand God's timing!

AGCI does not tell court dates... so obviously we haven't made it through courts yet... It's been 5 weeks tomorrow since our referral so I didn't really expect it but then when I heard we were the 6th family in line... I just thought... MAYBE...
But I am THRILLED that we could experience this with the Beelers :-)

I am sooooooo wondering what changed Gresham's number!!! I have no idea. I know that the #1 boy person uses the listserv, so I just put a call-out to her....hope she shares if there was any news! Thanks for giving me a little burst of excitement!

Nope...no referral today. She just responded to my listserv message. No biggie...another day ;)

Hey, don't give up on investigative blogging....I would have wondered the same thing if I'd seen their blog first. Again, don't give up on it!! We must band together! ;)

So, I got an email today and our numbers for the girl list were wrong! Thankfully one of our friends who lives here in the same town (really cool story) read my blog. She emailed and said, wait - I'm #10 on the girl list. She emailed J. and J. emailed me to let me know that she mis-read our girl # - oops :). It's not a big deal. We're now #12 on the girl list and #10 on the boy list - so we've moved up one spot. J. didn't share anything about referrals or anything that's going on (although that would be pretty cool - huh :). All in due time, we'll have our beautiful children home and thank God for what He has shown us through this incredible journey :)! Praying for you!
