Longing

I feel like the wait is getting hard and we've only been on the wait list 19 days. I know that sounds like we are really impatient, but......

we made the decision to adopt in July

Started all the paperwork in August

Finished our home study Nov. 15th

Got fingerprinted Dec. 4th

Received our FDL Feb. 28th

and have been waiting ever since. I feel like we are ready! I am so happy with the two children God has blessed us with already, they are tons of fun! It's just starting to feel like we are missing a child/children. Our family doesn't feel complete right now. Even though my arms are full with our two children, there is also an empty feeling. I am longing to hold, kiss and rock our new child/children. God placed the desire to adopt on our hearts and that desire is growing daily!!

Michelle,
I am right there with you. The wait is very hard. For me, it is a different wait, but BELIEVE me it is hard. We first talked to Julie about our kids on DECEMBER 3rd. I looked it up in my e-mail. It's been long.
You are such a wonderful, supportive person and you will be feeling the incredible joy of a referral soon!! We are all right here with you supporting you!!

Michelle,
We started in August in the Vietnam program and then switched to Ehtiopia in December. The waiting is terrible, but God is just preparing everyone and everything these little lives will touch. You are going to get a referral before you even get settled into the waiting. Keep it up, you are so helpful to the rest of us.

Oh Michelle. You have been at this a long time. I know when you think about how long it takes all anyone talks about is waiting for referral and then picking up your child, but so much time is spent before that talking about adoption, planning, imagining and doing all that paperwork, so that the process seems like forever.

The referral is going to come before you know it and probably when you least expect it.

I am so glad we can be in community together to share the ups and downs of this process with people who are in it too. God is good.

Waiting for you too and lifting you up in prayer,
Amy
